So, managed to go on a nice, long walk again last time - not as long as last time, though, because I went out a whole lot later (last week was about 10kms, this week is 8.746 km, according to Google Earth and the Path Measurement Tool. It was a most satisfying walk, because:
- I found this unbelievably beautiful huge plot of land just lying vacant, right behind the Bukit Batok Town Park. So there's a hill covered in trees, right behind a huge field of grass, with trees randomly (or, this being Singapore, carefully arranged in rows) several metres apart. And it was huge! According to Google Earth, half this area used to be just the way it is now, but the other half was built up. Presumably, that particular building complex (the big gray-white one in the north of this map) is no longer around. It was completely brilliant; I just walked around in the grass in awe of the massive amount of space.
- In aforementioned park, I bumped into a large cocker spaniel named Lucy and her family. The dad started asking me about my job, which was weird. I need more help figuring out how to talk to random people on the street, apparently.
- I borrowed several movies, including The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, a one-DVD collection of the The Pink Panther movie series, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
Alas, it all ended kind of badly, as I accidentally deleted all the photographs I took on the walk, and later developed a rather nasty stomach upset which took until Thursday (the day I'm editing this) to get rid of, and necessitated a very pointless trip to the doctor's. Nasty, nasty.
So. That's about it for now, I think.
