It's been a while

Well, hey. Hello. It really is very nice to see you again. Seriously! I'm not kidding. After Wordpress' prettiness and Twitter's overexcited interface, Blogger's bland colours are like coming back home. And of course it is home: I've "kept" this blog since March 2004; at four years, this is one of my longest single, continuous residences anywhere. Home it most certainly is.

I'm going to be playing with writing a "column" on another blog for a while, mostly just be crapping about blog/new articles which catch my eye, and what I think about things, that sort of thing. Very random, but it'll keep "hey check out this link" articles off this blog, might improve my writing style/ability/skill, and - who knows? - if I get to be a prat online, I might not be one in real life. I won't start publicising it until I have a good writing style and a consistent update cycle going, but I figured I should atleast mention it here.

Christmas - followed by New Year - is approaching soon. It's probably useless to try and rip Christmas out of me, so best to go along with it - I do really enjoy all that peace-on-Earth-and-goodwill-towards-men thing, and the special-time-of-the-year thing, and - horror of horrors! - the carols, which I've grown up with, alas. So it goes. Christmas eve is actually tomorrow night, and I wish I'd done some sort of a Christmas-for-kids thing for it, but I guess it's too late now.

I'm trying to drop my weight and reduce my blood cholesterol all at once. So far, so bleah: I've lost about a kilo or two from last week, which is hardly anything at all. I'll go on like this, but if another week goes by without a similar decrease (which is fine, you know - at this rate I'll be unfattened by my birthday, which I'd really like, is not to go into my 26th year on this planet fat), I'll have to cut back further. The good news: we're moving office sometime in the next week, so my healthy food options should multiply dramatically then. I've got cornflake and pasta skillz down, but am hindered by a lack of variety and options in that kind of cuisine. Got to root around for something crunchy and green to add to pasta. Any suggestions?

I've got more to say (duh), but none of it is very interesting (did I mention I've got the entire soundtrack of Juno swimming around my head? "I like my new bunny suit", indeed), so it can wait for when I'm a bit awaker than I am right now. Mmmm, sleep sounds nice right now.
