Too much fun to pass up / song title guide to life

Okay, this is about the first time I've filled up a quiz without someone tagging me directly or any such, but it was just too much fun to pass up! It was a challenge, so how could I resist?

Here are the instructions:

Using only song titles from ONE ARTIST to answer these questions. Pass it on to 15 people you like and include me. Try not to repeat a song title. It's a lot harder than you think.

'Dyu see? Such fun! As expected I picked the greatest band of all time. Here are the questions:

Pick Your Artist:
The Beatles
Are you male or female:
Baby You're A Rich Man
Describe yourself:
Nowhere Man
How do you feel about yourself:
Good Day Sunshine
Describe where you currently live:
Magical Mystery Tour
If you could go anywhere, where would you go:
There's a Place
Your favorite form of transportation:
Twist and Shout or What You're Doing.
Your best friend is:
Mean Mr. Mustard
Your favorite color is:
For You Blue
What's the weather like:
Getting Better
Favorite time of day:
Good Night
If your life was a TV show, what would it be called:
Here Comes the Sun
What is life to you:
I Don't Want to Spoil the Party
What is the best advice you have to give:
Let it be
If you could change your name, what would it be:
Wild Honey Pie
Your favorite food is:
Savoy Truffle
Thought for the Day:
I Want You (She's So Heavy)
How I would like to die:
It Won't Be Long
My soul's present condition:
Wait
My motto:
Tomorrow Never Knows

I'm not going to tag anyone, but please let me know if you fill up this quiz yourself, so I get a chance to read yours. And have fun with it!

Next time I need music

I should definitely look at this: the album with "I'm No Superman" on it!

What I'm doing *right now*

Sitting in the living room. The lights are dimmish. The TV is off, and not a creature is stirring etc.

My headphones are on. The final bars of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto are just rolling to a close; I think that's the final 'exclamations' from the orchestra ... yes, silence. And now, ahhh ... the gentle orchestration of Beethoven's 6th symphony (first movement) are pouring across my head now. Ah, beautiful, beautiful ...

Mmmm. It's all very pleasant and pleasing and relaxing. I should really do this more often.

My playlist for the night (all compositions by Beethoven unless noted otherwise):

  1. Yellow Submarine, by the Beatles.
  2. Piano Concerto No. 4, Andante
  3. Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor", Rondo:allegro
  4. Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral", Allegro ma non troppo
  5. Piano Sonata No. 8 "Pathétique", Adagio
  6. Bagatelle in A minor "Für Elise"
  7. Symphony No. 5, Allegro con brio
  8. Piano Sonata No. 14 "Moonlight", Adagio sostenuto
  9. Symphony No. 9, Allegro assai "Ode to Joy"

Now, off with you. Leave me to my music.

My, my, my

... it's a beautiful day!

  1. Showed my papers to the landlord's agent, thus completing formalities - we're staying in Sunset Way for another year!
  2. Finally managed to round up the remaining papers, spend a small fortune online on tickets and reservations, and submitted my visa application! Let's see how it goes; it ought to be back by Monday.
  3. Got back to lab. Got nothing done, finally gave up and moved on.
  4. Had a very nice evening at Orchard. Bought two CDs (Torch the Moon and Nevermind - between this and the CDs sent from home, I should be all set with a ton of new music!), borrowed four books from the NLB (first time eva, etc.), then dinner and ice cream. Nice. Haven't had a really nice just-chill-out-and-chat evening in a while, now.
  5. Came back home, chilled out, then had a bit of some very excellent kheema (mincemeat) prepared by my amazing apartmentmates. All-in-all, today, I consumed one breakfast, two lunches, two dinners, and one ice-cream. I mean, seriously. Wow.

So, yeah, nice day. I'm decently sleepy now and all, so I'll go, but I thought it important to remember that even in the unending sameness of life there's always room for a little ripple or two.

By request: mornings

I used to have one playlist which followed me everywhere, called SFF (for Strawberry Fields Forever, duh) for those times where I just felt like "no-one I think is in my tree". Luckily, I did manage to grow out of adolescence, so my playlist-to-share instead is the much more blaise Mornings. I have it both on my phone (which can't recognize headphones any more, btw) and on my computer at work. The contents are:

Music being what it is ("'scuse me while I kiss this guy", anyone?) I'm probably wrong about a number of the 'meanings' to the songs. But hey - that's what they mean to me, right? It's the right of the reader to reinterpret and all that claptrap.

Also, apologies if I forgot to write any of the entries, or formatting is wrong, or whatever. I'll fix it eventually.

Nice music

Was just listening to Yello by Yongen and Surfacing by Roots Rebel. Not too shabby!

Lazy, semi-work day today so far. Hope I can stay in late and work on the family blog a bit.
